I-95 HOT Lanes Completed

In December of 2014, the I-95 HOT Lanes in Northern Virginia opened to traffic. The lanes are open to high occupancy vehicles for free; other drivers must pay a toll. In the first month of operations, a reported 200,000 unique EZ Pass customers passed through the lanes. There were more than 37,000 average weekday trips; more than one third of those weekday trips were HOV car-poolers. Learn more about the project here.
