Traffic relief is finally on the way for the Hampton Roads community. Later this month, work will begin on the widening of a busy 5.6-mile portion of Interstate 64. One travel and one shoulder lane will be added, which will grow the interstate from four to six lanes. Governor Terry McAuliffe spoke highly of the expansion, saying it will “reduce congestion delays, improve traffic safety, and most importantly … make sure if an incident occurred with the weather that we would be able to evacuate folks in Hampton Roads."
