The recent announcement of the I-64 widening will bring much needed relief to Hampton Roads drivers, and Virginia Beach Mayor Will Sessoms says there are more traffic relief projects on the way. As of today, there’s a funding plan for eight, one of which is the I-64/I-264 interchange, which Sessoms claims is “the most backed up intersection probably in the Commonwealth of Virginia if someone’s trying to come to Virginia Beach, Norfolk or Chesapeake.” Sessoms also mentioned they’re looking into one or two water crossings, which could mean more tolls.
